Points For The Debate

Good evening Honourable panel of Judges, Team CFAP and my Co-debaters. Good evening to all members of CFAP group. My name is Bello Oreoluwa,THE  4TH SPEAKER representing CFAP Sisters Forum. I am here to  oppose the motion which states that,”To go far in life, you have to walk alone “.

To go far in life means to succeed and make great achievements in life. It doesn’t really mean distance but to excel and  achieve great things. A person who wants to go far in life cannot walk alone. He needs God and man. Friends are companions on a journey who ought to aid each other to persevere in the road to a happy life. There is this saying by Helen Keller that says ” walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light ”. Even in the Bible, it states that two are better than one. No matter how you see it, you really can’t walk alone.

As a Christian, you can’t be alone because you have the Holy Spirit as a friend and a  comforter. When talking about not walking alone, it’s not necessarily a friend that we can see. For us to go far in life, we need God and the Holy Spirit to direct our steps. There must be an agreement between you and God. Amos 3:3 says “Can two walk together, unless be ye agreed?” If you don’t listen to what the Holy Spirit tells you, one will end up regretting so therefore, there must be an agreement.

Every great person  we see today didn’t get to where they are by themselves. For example, Men of God like Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Kumuyi, etc didn’t get to where they are all by themselves. They needed God and with God, all things are possible. They were never alone, no wonder Paul said ” I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Genesis 17vs 1 says “… I am the Almighty God, walk before me and be thou perfect”.
If man can go alone in life, we don’t need  teachers, advisors and even parents to advise and educate us. Our family are God’s gift to us as we are to them. God created Eve for Adam so she can be of help to him. A man needs a woman to be his companion,to  comfort him and help him in times of difficulties.

Once you are in Christ, you are not alone. Even Jesus Christ said “Yes, I am with you until the very end of time”.
With these points of mine, I hope I’ve been able to convince and not to confuse you that “To go far in life, you cannot walk alone”. Thank you
